Oil and fire — they shouldn't work, and yet. One suffocates, one ignites, and somehow in that tension they find each other. This piece lives in that contradiction: the slick, heavy pull of oil against the restless hunger of flame. Two forces that by all logic should cancel each other out, but instead they orbit, they cling, they complete. There's something deeply human in that — the relationships that make no sense on paper but burn brightest in practice. Wintering Down gave me the space to sit with that paradox quietly, without needing to resolve it. Some unions don't ask for your approval.
