Yellow like a raised fist. Yellow like sunlight that answers to no one. This is No Kings — a piece that came out of something I was feeling in my gut and needed to put on canvas before the moment passed. The heart replaces the 'heart' of the message, because to me that's always where real power lives — not in crowns, not in thrones, not in whoever decides they're above the rest of us. The crown sits right in the middle, dethroned by its own presence, framed by a declaration that feels as old as it does urgent. I painted it fast, loose, with broad strokes of pure cadmium yellow and raw black. No fussing. Some things don't need to be polished. They just need to be said.
