Meet Dory — a bright yellow fish with wide, slightly bewildered eyes and a tiny heart for a mouth, floating in a deep blue world of her own. I painted her in 2025 as part of my ongoing studies — no grand plan, just the urge to see what would happen if I let a character emerge from the blue. She came out looking equal parts lost and completely at peace with it, which felt honest. The textured white border around her ocean circle gives the whole thing a porthole quality, like you've caught a glimpse of something alive just below the surface. There's something quietly moving about a creature that small, holding that much presence.
