Barcelona has a way of staying with you. This is my second memory of it — and it came back in waves, literally. I imagined a heart built from Gaudí tiles, all that mosaic warmth and geometry, sinking gently into the Mediterranean. Above it, five funnels rise like the towers of the Sagrada Família reaching for a sky they may never quite touch. There is something beautifully unfinished about Barcelona — always under construction, always becoming. This painting holds that feeling: ancient and modern, sacred and playful, submerged yet reaching upward. The sea does not swallow it. It holds it.
