Lisbon does something to you. The light, the hills, the smell of grilled fish drifting through narrow streets — it gets under your skin and stays there. Anonymous Sardines came out of that feeling. Two fish, yellow-green and loose, swimming through a wash of deep Atlantic blue. They look the same at first glance. But one is bigger, one floats a little lower, and each carries a heart-shaped tail — red, bold, unmistakable. Because no one is truly anonymous, are they? Not even a sardine. The little hearts floating up to the left are the ones that got away — feelings that rise to the surface whether you invite them or not. I painted this the way I remember Lisbon: vibrant, slightly chaotic, and quietly full of life.
