This one is personal. Castiel was my friend's cat — gone too soon, and too young. I painted him from memory and love, because some presences are too strong to just let fade. That gaze — those ice-blue eyes staring straight through you — tells you everything about who he was. Utterly self-possessed. Quietly commanding. The kind of creature that owned whatever room he walked into. I kept the background a soft turquoise, something between a clear winter sky and still water, because Castiel deserves a place that feels open and calm. He lives here now, in paint, forever a little bit fierce and a whole lot unforgettable. This one's for him — and for everyone who has ever loved an animal with their whole heart.
