Purple — just purple. Sometimes that's the whole brief, and honestly, it's enough. There's something about this color that doesn't ask for permission. Deep, almost brooding at its core, then bursting outward in streaks of lavender and light — like a heart that's been quietly holding something big and finally lets it go. I painted this as part of my end-of-year series, and there's a meditative quality to it I didn't entirely plan. The texture on the heart is raw, built up with intention, while the background radiates in loose, sweeping strokes. It pulses. I wanted it to feel like that moment between one year and the next — full of weight, full of possibility. 2026 already has a heartbeat.
