There's something I love about the moment when winter swallows everything — the noise, the direction, the plan. That's what happened here. I painted '2025' in gold against the dark, bold and declarative, like a year that means business. But then, down below, five tiny red figures scattered across the white — lost in the snow, wandering, no particular destination. Are they skiing? Sliding? Simply drifting? I'm not sure they know either, and honestly that feels right. The contrast between that golden certainty at the top and the quiet, aimless little souls at the bottom is exactly the tension I wanted to sit with. A new year announces itself with fanfare. The rest of us just figure it out as we go.
